Hi, Iā€™m Rebecca Mccarthy.

I am an acute care nurse practitioner with over 10 years of critical care nursing experience, an American Heart Association instructor, a mom and the founder of ABC Response.

My proffesional experience as an intensive care nurse has given me the oppertunity to care for many critically ill patients and their families. I have seen first hand the difference that good quality emergency response - including high quality CPR - can make to a persons recovery.

I became a mom in October 2022, even with my critical care experience I was nervous about the prospect of keeping a new born baby safe. When speaking to other new parents I realized this was a common concern and decided to use my knowledge and background to empower new parents and caregivers with the skills necessary to respond to emergency situations.

My Approach

Each class is taught in a supportive and warm enviornment. Students will be given ample time to practice skills on top of the range manakins that provide real time feedback of quality of compressions. Students are encouraged to ask questions and share experiences. The goal is for students to leave feeling more confident in their abilities to respond to emergency situations at home, at work and in the community.
